In 2021, The Old Floating Jetty Across The Inner Harbor Was Dismantled. Due To The Growing Demand To Cross The Inner Harbor, A New Floating Bridge Is To Be Built At The Same Location. The Subject Of This Service Description With Service Program Is Therefore The Planning And Execution Of A Replacement Building For The Crossing, Which Was Dismantled In 2021, As A New Pedestrian Connection Over The Duisburg Inner Harbor. The New Crossing Over The Duisburg Inner Harbor Should Be Placed Almost In The Middle Of The Inner Harbor Basin And Create A Direct Pedestrian Connection Between The North And South Banks. This Significantly Reduces The Distance For Pedestrians To Travel From One Bank To The Other, As They Do Not Have To Walk Around The Inner Harbor Basin. The New Crossing Connects To The Existing Waterfront Promenade And Its Traffic Route On The North Bank. On Both Banks, The Bridge Will Be Slightly Raised At The Abutments In Order To Cantilever Over The Listed Embankment Wall. The Terrain Level Will Be Adjusted So That Only Very Flat Ramps Lead From The Traffic Route (North Bank) And The Old Track Bed (South Bank) To The Bridge. Existing Bank Railings Are Adjusted To The Height Of The Bridge Railing In A Transition Area.
