You Can Still Have An Influence During The Market Survey Phase! We Want The City Of Turku To Make Quality Purchases And Cooperate With Companies. Thats Why We Carry Out A Market Survey Before The Publication Of The Actual Procurement Notice. This Notice Contains Two Separate Requests Concerning The Archeological Studies Competition Planned By The City Of Turku, The Estimated Contract Period Of Which Starts On February 1, 2026 (Target). You Can Either Respond To A Request For Information Or Give A Statement, Or Both. 1.) Request For Information And Market Dialogue Invitation We Ask You To Answer The Questions And Register For The Open Market Dialogue In The Forms Survey: Https://Forms.Office.Com/E/Nqz1daeyak The Market Dialogue Will Be Held As A Teams Meeting On 25 November 2025 From 9:00 A.M. To 11:00 A.M. The Teams Link Will Be Sent To Those Who Registered. The Dialogue Will Discuss The Questions Presented In The Request For Information And Other Issues That Come Up. 2.) Opinion Request We Are Asking For Your Opinion On The Business Impact On The Planned Acquisition Via The Form In The Link: Https://Forms.Office.Com/E/Jz5c8dplmprocurement Description: The Area Of The City Of Turku Has Been Inhabited For Thousands Of Years, And Urban Settlements Along The Aura River Have Been Around Since 1300. Turku Is The Oldest City In Finland. Turku Is Also A Growing And Developing City, Where Archaeological Cultural Heritage Is Constantly Searched For And Studied In Connection With Various Planning And Construction Projects In Accordance With The Antiquities Act (295/1963) And The Land Use Act (132/1999). A Significant Part Of The Research Is Carried Out In The Old Site Plan Area Of The City Of Turku, Where There Are Unique, Exceptionally Thick And Very Well-Preserved Cultural Layers And Masonry Structures From The Middle Ages And Modern Times. Turku Is One Of Finlands Most Significant Medieval And Early Modern Archaeological Sites. The Oldest Urban Area Has Been Identified As A Nationally Significant Archaeological Area (Vark 2025). On Average, There Have Been Around 16-37 Research Commissions Per Year. The Scope Of Assignments Varies From Small-Scale Inspections To Large-Scale Excavations (E.G. Market Square Surveys In 2018-2019). In Terms Of Euros, The Value Of The Assignments Varies From A Few Thousand Euros To Tens Of Thousands Or Hundreds Of Thousands Of Euros. The Contract Period Is Initially 3 Years And 2+2 Year Option Periods. The City Of Turku Will Make A Decision On The Construction Of The Tramway By June 2026. If The Tram Is Going To Be Built, It Will Mean Extensive Archaeological Research On The Trams Routes In The Area Of The Historic Center Of Turku. The Excavations Required For The Tramway Would Start In 2027 At The Earliest. After The Excavations Are Finished, The Conservation Of The Finds Will Probably Continue For Years. In Connection With This Planned Tender, The City Of Turku Is Considering Whether The Archaeological Studies Of The Tramway Will Be Carried Out Under The Same Contract Or Whether Turku Raitiotie Oy Should Tender Its Own Contract. Turku Raitiotie Oy Currently Has A Valid Contract With An Archaeologist, But During The Implementation Planning The Knowledge Of The Requirements For Implementing The Tramway Has Become More Detailed. The Value Of The Acquisition Depends On Whether The Tramway Is Built Or Not And Whether Tramway Studies Are Included In This Acquisition. The Possible Value Of The Acquisition Is Therefore Between 4 And 44 Million. In The Tender, Several Bidders Will Be Selected As Service Providers. During The Construction Of The Tramway, Archaeological Investigations Will Also Be Needed In Other Parts Of The City, So It Is To Be Expected That There Will Be A Shortage Of Surveyors, Which Will Delay The Construction Projects. Thank You For Answering! All Answers Are Important.************************************************************************************************************************************ The Goal Of The Request For Information And Request For Opinion Is To Map The Market Of The Procurement Object And To Obtain Comprehensive Information About Availability, Implementation Possibilities And Potential Service Providers. This Announcement Is Not A Procurement Announcement Or A Request For Tender, But A Request For Information And Opinions, Which Aims To Map The Market And Develop Tendering Documents For The Procurement. Requests Are Not Binding On Those Who Answered Them. The Answers Have An Impact On The Implementation Of The Procurement And Can Reduce The Need To Ask Questions While The Tender Is In Progress. The Procurement Unit Does Not Undertake To Carry Out The Procurement Based On The Market Survey, And The Presented Descriptions / Specifications Are Not Binding On The Customer.
