The Demonstrator Will Use Existing Climate Dt Data To Evaluate Risks Related To The Occurrence And Intensity Of Compound Extreme Climatic Events In Future Climate And Their Implications For Agricultural Systems And Macroeconomic Implications. With This Contract Ecmwf Aims To Support The Development Of A Destine Demonstrator To Support The Ecb In Its Efforts To Enhance Its Analysis And Modelling Capabilities By Defining And Testing Selected Climate Indicators For The Agriculture Sector For Future Integration Into Ecb’S Analysis. This Is Expected To Eventually Enable A More Precise Assessment Of How Climate-Related Extremes Including Heatwaves, Cold Spells, Droughts, Floods As Well As Compounded Extreme Events, Impact Agricultural Productivity And Food Prices. Understanding These Relationships Will Enable The Ecb And Other Central Banks To Assess How Climate-Induced Volatility In Food Prices Can Influence Inflation Dynamics, Economic Growth And Financial Stability. This Information Will Support The Integration Of Climate Risk Into Macroeconomic Modelling And Help Strengthen The Ecb’S Capacity For Resilient, Forward-Looking Monetary Policy And Financial Oversight.
