Tenders are invited for Art Specialist Consultant - Enhancing Community Based MHPSS & Social Cohesion Through Integrated Basic Services and Awareness Raising Initiatives. Background In partnership with Embrace and with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), MDSF is implementing a community-based MHPSS and social cohesion project aimed at strengthening psychosocial wellbeing, improving access to community-based mental health services, and promoting inclusion between displaced and host communities across Beirut, Bekaa, Baalbeck, and the South. Within this framework, MDSF will facilitate community-based psychosocial support activities through art-based methodologies - specifically music, drama, and storytelling - as tools for emotional expression, healing, and community cohesion. These interventions will be delivered through structured group sessions conducted by professional Arts Specialists, integrating creative approaches into MHPSS to foster empathy, self-expression, and resilience among participants. 3. Objective The overall objective of this consultancy is to design and deliver arts-based psychosocial sessions that promote self-expression, stress relief, and social connection among community members affected by conflict, displacement, and socio-economic challenges. Specifically, the consultants will: Facilitate creative and therapeutic group sessions using music, drama, or storytelling techniques that align with MHPSS principles. Strengthen participants psychosocial wellbeing and emotional regulation through structured art engagement. Support community cohesion by creating inclusive, interactive, and safe spaces for shared expression and mutual understanding. Contribute to MDSFs documentation of psychosocial and behavioral improvements through feedback and reflection. 4. Scope of Work The Arts Specialists will: 1. Design and plan session content for approximately 80 group art-based sessions, covering music, drama, and storytelling interventions. 2. Deliver 4 structured sessions per group, for a total of 20 groups of 10 participants each (i.e., 200 participants in total). 3. Ensure sessions are interactive, trauma-informed, and inclusive, encouraging participation from both host and displaced community members. 4. Use creative methods such as rhythm exercises, improvisation, role play, narrative building, songwriting, or collaborative storytelling to promote emotional release and resilience. 5. Coordinate with MDSFs psychologist and field officers to identify participants requiring additional psychosocial support or referral. 6. Document each session through attendance sheets, short reflections, and brief qualitative observations of participant engagement and progress. 7. Participate in coordination meetings and a debriefing session with MDSF and Embrace teams to share lessons learned and recommendations. 5. Deliverables The consultant(s) are expected to deliver the following outputs: 1. Inception Report and Work Plan: A brief document detailing the session methodologies, artistic tools, materials needed, and implementation schedule, submitted within one week of contract signing. 2. Eighty (80) Art-Based Group Sessions: Conducted between January and May 2026, covering 20 groups (10 participants per group, 4 sessions per group) in Bekaa and Baalbeck. Each session should last 1.52 hours and incorporate participatory, culturally relevant approaches that promote psychosocial wellbeing and social cohesion. 3. Session Reports: Short reports submitted within three (3) working days after each session, including attendance lists, session summary, participant engagement notes, and recommendations. 4. Final Summary Report: A consolidated report summarizing all sessions delivered, methodologies used, observed participant outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future art-based MHPSS interventions. The final report is due by end of May 2026. 6. Duration of Assignment The assignment will be implemented between January and May 2026, covering session preparation, facilitation, and reporting. 7. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy, Psychology, or a related field (Masters preferred). Minimum 35 years of experience in facilitating art-based activities or psychosocial workshops with vulnerable populations. Demonstrated experience in integrating art and MHPSS approaches within humanitarian or community-based programs. Strong facilitation and communication skills, with sensitivity to cultural and social dynamics in the Bekaa and Baalbeck regions. Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English. Ability to document and report activities in a clear and concise manner. 8. Location Activities will take place primarily in Bekaa and Baalbeck Governorates, in coordination with MDSFs field offices and community centers. Occasional coordination meetings may be held at MDSF Headquarters in Ferzol or online. 9. Reporting and supervision The consultant will report directly to the Project Officer and in close coordination with the project team. 10. Payment Terms Payments will be made via bank transfer as follows: 50% upon completion of the first 40 sessions and submission of corresponding session reports. 50% upon completion of the remaining 40 sessions and submission of the final report. Note: Without a valid MOF certificate, a 3.4% tax on goods and 8.5% on services will apply. MDSF reserves the right to withhold final payment if deliverables are incomplete or do not meet quality standards. 11.
