Expression of Interest are invited for Pakistan- Gap Assessment for Accelerating Active Mobility for Women & Girls in Pakistan This activity is part of the Global Facility to Decarbonize Transport (GFDT) by the World Bank. The grant aims to accelerate inclusive, safe, and gender-responsive active mobility infrastructure in Lahore and Karachi; Pakistans largest cities and economic hubs by supporting walking and cycling initiatives that improve access to jobs and education. These efforts align with Pakistans National Transport Policy, NDCs, and the Country Partnership Framework 20252035, contributing to climate mitigation, air quality improvement, and road safety. The active mobility grant will increase the impacts of the Karachi Mobility Project (yellow line e-bus rapid transit); and the Punjab Clean Air Program (introducing e-buses in Lahore, electric 2-3-wheeler financing support, vehicle inspection control and the buyback program). The primary objective of this assignment is to assess the challenges and explore solutions to improve safe, inclusive, and accessible active mobility for women and girls in Karachi and Lahore.
