The University Of Alberta Is Inviting The Submissions Of Proposals To Acquire A Scanning Electron Microscope.The Scanning Electron Microscopy (Sem) Is Intended To Be A “Hands-On” Microscope For Both Undergraduate And Graduate Students, To Enhance Their Experiential Learning. It Is Anticipated That There Will Be Many Users, So Relative Ease Of Operation, Durability And Serviceability Are Important Considerations. The Sem Will Be Used As Part Of The Laboratory Component For Undergraduate And Graduate Courses, As Well As A Research Tool For Characterization Of Microstructures Of Materials That Have Been Synthesized And Tested. High Resolution Imaging (Both Secondary Electrons And Backscattered Electrons) And X-Ray Microanalysis Capabilities Are Required.
