In The Correctional Facilities Of The State Of Baden-Württemberg, Around 7,300 Prisoners (As Of May 2025) Are Housed In The Areas Eligible For The Service; The Proportion Of Foreigners Is Around 54 Percent (Criminal Arrest: Around 48 Percent; Pre-Trial Detention: Around 69 Percent). The Video Interpreting Service Has Been Offered Across The Board In The Baden-Württemberg Prison System Since Mid-2018. The Telephone Interpreting Service Has Been Used By Individual Correctional Facilities Since The Corona Pandemic. The General Number Of Inmates And The Proportion Of Foreign Prisoners For Whom Interpreting Services Have To Be Used Due To A Lack Of German Language Skills Are Subject To Incalculable Fluctuations. Even In The Case Of Existing Language Difficulties, The Necessary Need For Interpreting Services Can Be Completely Different For Individual Prisoners. Therefore, The Following Can Only Be Stated As A Non-Binding Guide To The Expected Volume Of Services: For Video Interpreting And Telephone Interpreting, The Estimated Volumes For Interpreting Services - Based On The Services Incurred In 2024 - Are Around 4,300 Calls Per Year (Including A Total Of Around 30 Calls In Night And Weekend Service) With An Average Call Duration Of Around 18 Minutes. The Total Volume Based On The Total Duration Is Therefore Estimated At Around 18,000 Calls (Of Which A Total Of Around 120 Calls Were In Night And Weekend Service). In 2024, Most Interpretations Were For Arabic (Around 40 Percent), Russian (Around 13 Percent), Romanian (Around 9 Percent), Polish (Around 8 Percent) And Turkish And Georgian (Around 5 Percent Each); Interpreting For Around 30 Other Languages Had Shares Of Less Than 5 Percent Each In 2024. These Proportions Are Changeable And Are Therefore Only To Be Understood As A Non-Binding Guide. The Contractor Is Not Entitled To Purchase A Specific Quantity Of Services.
