Tenders are invited for Consultancy - Puppetry Child Protection Trainer Training of Facilitators (ToF). ABOUT ABAAD ABAAD Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition for sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD promotes gender justice through a rights-based approach and works to end gender-based violence (GBV) by providing holistic protection and support services for women and girls, engaging men in positive masculinity, and building institutional and community capacities to advance gender equality and protection. Project: Walking Towards Safety: Fostering Child Protection & Mitigating Child Sexual Abuse in Lebanon funded by the Embassy of Netherlands in Lebanon. 1. Background ABAAD has developed a unique, in-house puppetry curriculum that uses creative, age-appropriate techniques to engage children and adolescents on critical child protection issues. Puppetry has proven to be a powerful medium for raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and building resilience among young audiences in diverse community settings. As part of its capacity-strengthening strategy, ABAAD will implement a Training of Facilitators (ToF) series to expand the pool of practitioners who can effectively use this curriculum. The consultant will also support the review and adaptation of the existing puppetry curriculum and ToF materials to ensure they are contextually relevant and aligned with child protection standards. Targeted practitioners include youth leaders, social workers, educators, and community facilitators who interact directly with vulnerable groups of children and adolescentsincluding street-connected children, those in orphanages, and participants in sports clubs, scouts, church youth groups, and mall-based activities. By equipping 200 practitioners with these creative tools, ABAAD aims to broaden outreach, increase knowledge of child protection, and promote safer, more resilient environments for children and youth across Lebanon. 2. Objectives of the Assignment The consultant will: 1.Deliver the ToF series to 200 practitioners (100 women, 100 men) from partner institutions. 2.Support the review and adaptation of the puppetry curriculum and ToF materials. 3.Administer pre- and post-tests to assess knowledge acquisition and skills development. 4.Document training, delivery, outcomes, and feedback to inform sustainability and future programming. 3. Scope of Work Facilitate all training modules for 200 participants (10 Trainings) Track module attendance and administer pre- and post-tests Collect participant feedback on training delivery and content. Contribute to refining curriculum content and ToF materials to strengthen relevance and impact. Share findings and recommendations with ABAAD and donors. 4. Deliverables (with timeline) Support the update and adaptation of the puppetry curriculum and ToF materials by 25 November 2025. Delivery of ToF Training for 200 Practitioners 5 trainings in December 2025 and 15 trainings in January 2026 Training Report (attendance, test results, participant feedback) by 15 February 2026 5. Timeline The consultancy is expected to run from November 2025 to February 2026 (4 months). 6. Required Qualifications Advanced degree in Education, Social Work, Child Protection, or related field. Proven expertise in child protection capacity-building and creative/participatory training methods. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and facilitation, ideally using creative tools (e.g., puppetry, theatre, arts-based approaches). Background in performing arts, drama, or theater education. Familiarity with gender and protection topics, particularly GBV and child protection Strong facilitation skills with diverse groups, including practitioners and youth leaders. Familiarity with Lebanons socio-cultural context and child protection challenges. Strong monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills. Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written). 7. Ethics & Safeguarding The trainer must comply with ABAADs safeguarding policies and international child protection standards. Training content and facilitation must uphold do no harm principles and ensure safe, inclusive, and participatory learning environments. Confidentiality, informed consent, and referral mechanisms must be integrated into all training activities. The consultant must adhere to ABAADs PSEA Policy, Child Protection Policy, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy, affirming full commitment to anti-fraud, safeguarding, and ethical practice. 8. Management and Coordination The consultant will report to ABAADs Director. The consultant will coordinate closely with the Prevention Technical Coordinator and the Project Coordinator for participant selection, tool validation, and reporting. Regular check-ins will be scheduled to ensure alignment.
