Tenders are invited for Aeolus-2 Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) of DWL Instrument The Aeolus-2 Programme was approved at the ESA Council meeting at Ministerial level in November 2022. Aeolus-2 is a collaborative programme with EUMETSAT for a series of two satellites, with a first launch in 2034 and the second five years later. The mission is an operational follow-on programme to the successful ESA Earth Explorer Aeolus mission. The primary objective of Aeolus-2 is to provide global observation of vertical wind profiles from the troposphere and lower stratosphere, using a Doppler Wind LIDAR (DWL) designed to measure doppler shifts in the backscatter of emitted laser light from molecules and aerosols in the atmosphere. In the frame of Aeolus-2 DWL Instrument, Airbus Defence and Space SAS will release, on 8th August 2025, an Invitation To Tender for the procurement of EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment). This EGSE must have the following capabilities: 1. Provide a SpaceWire interface that will be used to send and receive the TM/TC stream as well as the science data. This subsystem will also store, filter, and transmit the TM/TC or science data to the CCS for display and post-processing. 2. Provide primary power for the DWL Instrument electronics as well as power for the DWL Instruments heating lines. 3. Provide an acquisition command subsystem that will enable the acquisition of discrete or analog TMs as well as the generation of discrete commands. 4. Provide a command and synchronization interface to external GSEs.
