Long-Term Monitoring Of European Protected And Flemish Priority Species Provides Essential Information For Mandatory Reporting Under European Directives And Flemish Legislation Such As The Species Decree. This Knowledge Is Crucial To Monitor The Status And Trends Of Vulnerable, Protected Species And To Take Measures Where Necessary. For Many Species, The Contribution Of Citizen Scientists Is An Indispensable Source Of Observations. The Aim Of This Assignment Is To Coordinate The Third Cycle Of Species Monitoring Networks Supported By Citizen Science, After The 2016-2020 And 2021-2025 Cycles. The Assignment Includes The Coordination, Training And Management Of Volunteers For The Collection Of Distribution And Abundance Data Of The Target Species, The Management And Flow Of The Monitoring Data, And The Organization Of Project Follow-Up For The 2026-2030 Measurement Cycle.
