Tenders are invited for Conducting a Baseline Survey of Operational Research on Vitamin a Supplementation. Helen Keller Intl supports vitamin A supplementation for 40 million children each year in 14 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. When given twice a year to at least 80% of children aged 6 to 59 months in countries with high under-five mortality and high rates of vitamin A deficiency, vitamin A supplementation can help reduce child mortality by up to 24%. In Madagascar, Helen Keller Intl collaborates with the Ministry of Public Health for the provision of Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) in 08 regions namely Menabe, Ihorombe, Betsiboka, Boeny, Sofia, Melaky, DIANA and SAVA through the implementation of routine activities since 2025. In order to optimize the impact of routine VAS activities on the health of children under 5 years of age, Helen Keller Intl will conduct operational research focused on health system strengthening, specifically for the information system and supply chain components. We are currently looking for a specialized consultancy firm to accompany Helen Keller Intls teams in the country to conduct a baseline survey on the vitamin A coverage situation, routine data quality and current supply chain performance at the level of Mahabo districts of Menabe region and Isandra in Haute matsiatra region. The firm will be responsible for the preparation of the survey, including adapting protocols and research tools, submitting protocols to the ethics committee, recruiting and training investigators as well as overseeing field data collection, data analysis, and production of deliverables and reports.
