These Trends Are Expected To Continue, And The Expansion Of Fire-Prone Ecosystems Is Already Evident Based On The Fires That Occurred In Atlantic Canada In The Spring Of 2023 And The Summer Of 2025. This Initiative Is A Component Of An Overarching Program To Identify And Respond To Wildfire Risk In Fredericton. As Our Population Increases, So Too Does The Density Of Our Communities. Fredericton Is Home To A Mature And Expansive Urban Forest. As New Communities Are Developed And Densification Of Building Stock Takes Place, Wildfire Risk May Be Increased, Especially In Proximity To Frederictons Mature Urban Forest. Frederictons Wildfire Risk Management Program Is Intended To Inform And Guide City Planning And Development, Fire Department Preparedness, As Well As Frederictons Parks And Trees Division To Better Protect Frederictons Residents, Property, And Environment.
