Tenders are invited for Conduct a Technical Feasibility and Needs Assessment Study for Implementing Sustainable Agriculture in Farms Surrounding Ammiq Wetland. Deadline: Wednesday, 15. Oct 2025 Background: The Ammiq Wetlands are among the most important freshwater ecosystems in the Mediterranean. The Ammiq 2030 project, funded by DIMFE and implemented by IndyACT, aims to conserve biodiversity, sustain water levels, and reduce the impact of surrounding agricultural activities on the wetland. Building on an ongoing hydro-geological study and water management plan, this consultancy will assess how sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices can be introduced in the farms around Ammiq to improve resource management and enhance local resilience. This aspect also feeds into the CARE project (ref: AID 013244/05/1), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). Objective: The main goal is to conduct a feasibility and needs assessment study for introducing sustainable agricultural practices around the Ammiq Wetland. The consultant will: Document current agricultural practices in the target area. Assess the feasibility and social acceptance of sustainable agriculture options. Identify feasible site-specific sustainable practices, their costs, and implementation processes, considering climate adaptation. Develop a capacity-building and adoption plan for local farmers. Scope of Work The consultancy will include three main phases: 1. Planning and Inception: Literature review, scoping visits, stakeholder mapping, inception workshop, and detailed work plan. 2. Analysis of Existing Practices: Field surveys, interviews, GIS mapping, and economic modeling to assess sustainability readiness. 3. Formulation of Transition Scenarios and Capacity Building Plan 4. Deliverables will include inception, draft, and final reports (with GIS maps, visuals, and annexes), as well as a policy brief and a community-friendly summary. Duration 4 months, starting from the contract signature, in close coordination with the Ammiq 2030 team. Consultant Profile The consultant or team should have: Over 10 years of experience in sustainable or climate-smart agriculture. Proven experience with participatory and community-based approaches. Familiarity with the Lebanese agricultural context. Strong communication and reporting skills in English. Budget and Payment Terms The financial proposal should include a total budget of not more than 7,000 euros. Payment Schedule (Milestone-Based): 20% after the approval of the Inception Report 50% after the approval of Phase 2 30% after the approval of the Final Reporting.
