Request for proposals for Review and Development of Midwifery Training Curriculum for Sos College of Health Science, Mogadishu-Somalia Description of programme location and context In partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education, the SOS College of Health Sciences (Kulliyadda Culuumta Caafimaadka SOS) has been a cornerstone of health education in Somalia for over 25 years. Committed to excellence in training, the college has graduated more than 600 health professionals, many of whom are now serving in key healthcare roles across the country from frontline providers to leadership positions. Over the years, the college has emerged as a centre of excellence, renowned for its rigorous academic standards, skilled faculty, and its vital contribution to strengthening Somalias health workforce. The colleges main campus is located in Heliwa District, Mogadishu, and offers a range of health science programs at diploma, bachelors, and postgraduate levels. 2 Key areas of study include Nursing, Midwifery, and Public Health, among others, aimed at building a competent and responsive health workforce for Somalia. 1.3 Rationale and overall objective of curriculum review The main purpose of the consultancy is to review and redesign the midwifery training curriculum of SOS College of Health Sciences, ensuring its alignment with national priorities, international standards, and the evolving healthcare needs of Somalia The specific objectives of the assignment are to: 1. Formulate competency statements and expected learning outcomes in alignment with the standards of competency-based midwifery education, using the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) Essential Competencies framework. 2. Develop a theoretical instructional framework that outlines modules and module units, ensuring comprehensive coverage of relevant content within a structured format. 3. Design innovative instructional approaches and media to support active teaching, learning, and assessment strategies suitable for adult and professional learners. 4. Establish valid and reliable assessment and evaluation methods that effectively measure the achievement of competencies and learning outcomes. 5. Compile a comprehensive, up-to-date list of reference and resource materials, presented in an appropriate scholarly format (e.g., Harvard or APA style), to support both theoretical and clinical learning Tender Link : https://somalijobs.com/tenders
