Requirements: Aafc Requires A Contractor Who Specializes In Providing Winter Nursery Services On Barley Breeding Material. The Contractor Will Be Required To Plant Barley Seeds Provided From Brdc, Manage, And Harvest Rows/Plots Either As Individual Heads Or Bulk. The Contractor Shall Obtain A Phytosanitary Certificate To Comply With The Import Permit Requirements; The Testing Must Be Conducted By A Sag / Cfia Approved Lab. The Contractor Will Be Required To Arrange For Shipment Of The Harvested Seed And Heads Back To Brdc. The Contractor Will Be Required To Complete All The Export Documents Including But Not Limited To Customs Or Commercial Invoices And The Relevant Phytosanitary Certificates. Criteria For Assessment Of The Statement Of Capabilities : Any Interested Supplier Must Demonstrate By Way Of A Statement Of Capabilities That They Are Able To Provide Winter Nursery Services For Barley Breeding In Chile As Described In The “Requirement” Section Above. Contract Period: October 15, 2025 To March 31, 2026, With Two (2) One (1) Year Option Periods. Due To The Life Cycle Length Of Barley From Packaging, Seeding, Harvesting And Return To Brandon Rdc We Require The Similar Long Daylight Hours As Found In Manitoba’S Growing Season. Southern Hemisphere Conditions Are Favorable To Get Breeding Germplasm Cycled Through And Returned On Time For Seeding In Spring At Brandon Rdc. Phytosanitary Restrictions Also Strongly Limit The Locations Where Barley Is Allowed To Be Propagated Or Increased.
