Mercy Corps is Implementing Climate Change Leaders Advancing for Peace, a two-year program (November 2023 to October 2025) funded by Austrian Development Agency with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation. Under the program, we seek to enable women, girls and civil society organizations (CSOs) in conflict affected communities to reduce structural barriers to gender equality, contribute to climate smart natural resource management, strengthen climate resilience for peace for communities of Northeast Uganda and Northwest Kenya. We aim to specifically improve capacities of women, girls and CSOs to address gender inequality they face in climate and conflict issues and strengthen climate and conflict mechanisms and peace outcomes through increased womens leadership. These out comes can be reached when the women and girls are trained in climate adaptive livelihood training to support them develop community resilience to climate shocks.
