Tenders are invited for R&D Projects - Renewable Energy and Power Systems, Etc. Date Added: September 11, 2025 Deadline: 17/10/2025 Category: Consultancy A Call for Proposals for R&D Projects by the Presidential Implementation Committee on Technology Transfer (PICTT) and National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), is hereby announced. The R&D projects will be focused on specific outcomes in the field of applied research, i.e. they will lead to attaining new findings and skills for development of significantly improved products, processes or services, or new products, processes or services. Beneficiaries are expected to develop applied results. 2 Programme Objectives The Programme aims at increasing the number of specific outcomes in applied research on: Agricultural and Food Technology Renewable Energy and Power Systems Mining and Industrial Development Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Automation Health and Medical Technologies Climate Technology and Environmental Innovation Sustainable Transport and Mobility Defence and Aerospace Innovation. The research results will be implemented in practice to enhance the competitiveness of all enterprises and research organisations involved, while giving them access to the multilateral cooperation already established by PICTT/NASENI. Designated projects will aim at specific outputs in applied research, i.e., they will lead to acquiring new findings and skills for the development/creation of new or substantially new products, processes or services. The selected project shall respond to the current and future needs of Nigeria. The Programme will improve the access of Nigerian firms to international knowledge, foreign research authorities and facilitate market penetration within the local and even foreign markets. The synergic effect of the Programme is also the transfer of good practice and time-proven practices from abroad to Nigeria. 3 Programme Structure The Delta-2 second call for proposals is aligned with the following conceptions of applied research, experimental development and innovations. The Research and Development activity must contain the following features: novelty creativity uncertainty systematic nature transferability and/or reproducibility A proposed project should have an obvious advantage and economic value to the global marketplace (e.g., increased knowledge base, commercial needs, access to R&D infrastructure, new fields of application, etc.). Any company whose cooperative R&D project is compliant with the aforesaid criteria may apply to the present open call announcement in accordance with the national laws, rules, regulations and procedures in effect. The Programme invites technology related organisations from Nigeria to participate. 3.1 Applicant Eligibility Eligible project results will include patents, pilot plants, proven technologies, utility and industrial designs, prototypes, functional samples, software, certified methodologies, processes and specialised maps, databases and other relevant results. Applicants shall take the form of consortia consisting of R&D participants based in Nigeria and local technology firms/companies. A company, regardless of its size, must be a juristic entity (a company or organisation duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission). Universities or Research organisations may apply for the Delta-2 programme funding, provided the consortium constitutes at least one Nigerian company. Linked and partner enterprises are not allowed to participate. All applicants are subjected to initial screening which examines the consortiums capability to carry out the proposed project. Examination criteria include, but are not limited to, bankruptcy history, disposition for tax delinquency, default history of the head of the company, debt ratio, review of the recent financial statement in terms of capital erosion, etc. Failure in any of the criteria will disqualify the applicant and the respective proposal will not proceed to the next step of proposal evaluation.
