Expression of Interest are invited for Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Management for Sustainable Roads in Bolivia The overall objective of this assignment is to strengthen the climate resilience and DRM capacities of Bolivian national government agencies to better manage its road network, and plan, design, and implement climate resilient investment plans for the transport sector. This will be achieved mainly through developing a series of Technical Notes and conducting capacity building activities. The specific objectives of the assignment are: To compile best and state-of-the-art practices on promoting DRM and climate resilience in the transport sector with emphasis on highways, To develop a compendium of information on key natural hazards experienced in Bolivia affecting the road sector and a justification for investing in DRM and climate resilience, To review existing hydrological models that take into account climate change or other relevant models for Bolivia and assess their applicability, To review the Road Asset Management Systems existing in the country and make recommendations, To conduct a review of procedures associated with DRM and climate resilience in the transport sector and make recommendations, and To provide capacity building opportunities to the road agencies in the country.
