Strengthening micro-entrepreneurship among women, young people, and people with disabilities to create green jobs in the natural resources sector: Ghana and Senegal (MicroGREEN) MISSION NAME: Consulting services for a firm/firm responsible for value chain analyses; market assessment; course design; development of training programs and manuals; providing training; providing business development services; conducting business diagnostics, conducting business relationships and linkages with financial institutions; and contracting in Senegal. Background: Invest in Africa (IIA) has received a grant to implement a project entitled Strengthening MicroEntrepreneurship of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities for Green Job Creation in the Natural Resources Sector. The project is co-financed by the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) and the Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-Donor Trust Fund (YEI MDTF), through the African Development Bank (AfDB). Invest in Africa (IIA) intends to allocate a portion of the agreed funds to payment for the assignment covering: Consultancy Services for a firm to conduct value chain analyses; market assessment; course design; development of training programs and manuals; delivery of training; provision of business development services; conduct of business diagnostics, conduct of business relationships and linkages with financial institutions; and contract procurement in Senegal. The objective of this market access and business development initiative is to significantly increase employment opportunities for women and youth in the green economy, while facilitating access to new markets for selected MSMEs. It aims to ensure that these MSMEs are well prepared to compete in emerging markets, seize new opportunities, and access external financing, thereby contributing to job creation. This initiative also aims to strengthen MSMEs knowledge of market opportunities in the green economy and the capacity of support structures to effectively support businesses led by women and youth, to encourage their active participation in this dynamic. This mission aims to unlock the potential of businesses led by women and youth, often left out of the mainstream economy, so that they can play an important role in job creation. This will involve improving access to new and existing markets and providing quality business development services in selected sectors. It will include diagnostic studies, market and value chain analyses, the design and implementation of tailored training programs, strengthening linkages with markets and financial institutions, providing business development services, and producing knowledge materials for Senegalese MSMEs. The eligibility criteria, shortlisting, and selection procedure will be in accordance with the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) Procurement Framework of October 2015, which is available on the Banks website at www.afdb.org.
