Tenders are invited for Construction of Farmer Field School (Ffs) in Bulla Bartire Village of Kismayo District Jubaland State of Somalia This assignment is part of the wider GIZ-funded project Promoting Climate Resilience in Food Security in Jubaland, Somalia, implemented in partnership with NIRAS Germany GmbH. NIRAS, with over 40 years of global experience in agriculture, climate resilience, and institutional capacity building, provides technical leadership. The project runs from 15.03.2025 to 30.09.2026 and targets 700 farmers, including women, youth, IDPs, and persons with disabilities. It delivers five work packages: farmer training, provision of tractors and equipment, solar-powered irrigation, post-harvest solutions, and institutional capacity building for the Jubaland Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (JMoAI). Centre for Research and integrated Development (CeRID) is a non-governmental organization and an agent of change for peaceful and self-reliant communities founded in 2005. Our approach is grounded in the Theory of Change (ToC), enabling us to identify the desired outcomes and transformative changes that will strengthen CeRID in terms of institutional sustainability, strong partnership with both our target communities and our partners to tackle the root causes of poverty and vulnerability. Our Strategic Focus Are these five Areas (SFAs): (1) Climate Change Adaptation (2) Knowledge and Skill Development (3) Humanitarian, Development & Peace Nexus (HDPN) (4) Partnership & Collaboration (5) Organizational Capacity Development (OCD) 2.0 Project Objectives and Scope of Work 2.1 Project Objectives CeRID (Centre for Research and Integrated Development), invites qualified and experienced contractors to submit proposals for the construction of a Farmer Field School (FFS) Centre in Bulla Bartire Village, Kismayo District, Jubaland State of Somalia. Somalia job openings The primary objective is to construct a fully functional Farmer Field School (FFS) Centre that will serve as a hub for knowledge and skill development for local farmers. This center will be a key component of CeRIDs Community Food Security Project (CFSP) and its broader strategic focus on climate change adaptation and knowledge development. 2.2 Scope of Work The successful bidder will be responsible for all aspects of the construction of the FFS Centre, including: 1. Civil Works: All required civil engineering and construction activities, including foundation, walls, roofing, and flooring. 2. Structural Works: Construction of the building structure as per the provided Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and design specifications. 3. Finishing Works: Plastering, painting, installation of doors, windows, and other fittings. 4. Utility Connections: Integration of water and sanitation systems. 5. Site Management: Ensuring the construction site is managed safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the surrounding community. 6. Handover: The supplier will do final handover of the completed center, along with all relevant infrastructure would be given certificate of completion by CeRID engineer.
