Tenders are invited for Exploring System Architectures for Broadband Direct-to-Device Communication (Artes Fp 1b.148) Expro+ This activity will explore system options for enabling broadband D2D satellite communication, with a focus on using higher frequency spectrum (i.e., frequencies above FR1, or above 7 GHz). This study will consider the frequency ranges already identified by the 3GPP for both terrestrial networks (TN) and satellite networks (NTN), as well as other higher frequency bands which are under discussion for possible IMT usage. System-level factors to be considered include signal propagation, coverage limitations, the physical constraints of mm Wave frequencies, innovative access and duplex mechanisms (e.g. TDD and HD-FDD), as well as future user equipment capabilities.
