Objective of the Consultancy Establish a pool of qualified and experienced external lawyers, available to provide advisory, accompaniment and legal representation services for the resolution of matters related to the application of laws, rules and/or regulations in labor, business, civil, contractual, accounting and tax matters for the Colombia country program of the Lutheran World Federation - World Service. The consultancy will have an active and direct relationship with the Management Team of the Colombia and Venezuela Program. It coordinates its activities with: Management Team Geneva Support Team Description of activities Specialised legal advice and assistance: labour, civil, contractual, accounting, tax and business Have a list of legal professionals who can be contacted expeditiously for consultations and specific legal services Preparation of opinions and concepts according to request Preparation of legal documents Ensure the availability of specialized legal advice in key areas such as humanitarian law, human rights, immigration law, labor law, state contracting, civil law, administrative law, among others, as needed. Continuous updating of the organization on regulations and laws or draft regulations or laws that may affect it and possible training Ensure compliance with Colombian and international legislation applicable to all operations of the organization Provide expert legal guidance to safeguard the companys interests, mitigate legal risks and facilitate the development of business activities in an ethical manner and in accordance with current legislation. Provide legal support in the preparation and review of agreements, contracts, policies and other legal documents Advice for the hiring or hiring of foreign personnel and visa and work permit procedures. Protection of intellectual property at the global level, including trademark, patent and copyright registrations, and coordination with local experts as necessary. Assistance in resolving potential disputes and litigation. Provide legal representation in judicial or administrative proceedings, when necessary Analysis of civil and criminal liability clauses in contracts or agreements. Strengthen the organizations capacity to respond to emerging legal challenges in humanitarian contexts Advice on matters related to mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructurings at an international level, in coordination with law firms specialized in international transactions. Availability to meet requirements in an agile and timely manner, including possible trips to areas where the organization operates (if applicable). Confidentiality: General counsel is expected to maintain the confidentiality of all information and documentation relating to the companys operations, as well as any confidential matters discussed during the course of his or her work. Requirements to be taken into account Proponent Profile Natural or legal person with undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Law, preferably with a specialty in labor, tax and business law or related areas. With a valid professional card and without disciplinary sanctions Specializations, masters degrees or studies in relevant areas (International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, Administrative Law, Labor Law, etc.) will be positively valued. Minimum five (5) years of proven professional practice experience in the area indicated in number 1 of the proponents profile. Certified experience of working with international and/or local non-governmental organizations. Type of contract Framework contract for the provision of services.
