Tenders are invited for Conduct the Gendered Value Chains and Market Assessment for Community Empowerment Support to Women and Girls of the SSWSEEP Project Community Empowerment Support to Women and Girls (Component 1) of the SSWSEEP Project Scope of the Assignment. Purpose: The purpose of assessment is to generate robust evidence, through a rapid assessment, on the current economic activities and opportunities of women and adolescent girls participating in existing women-led VSLAs in selected counties of Eastern Equatoria and Western Bahr El Ghazal states, South Sudan.The assessment will examine and analyze their access to productive resources and financial services, prevailing gender norms in their communities, and institutional factors, such as access to GBV services, as well as risks, including GBV, and other social and economic, that influence their participation in and benefits from local value chains and markets. The rapid assessment will provide the target VSLA members and other project stakeholders with information and knowledge on the viability (economic, technical, market, and social feasibility), practical accessibility (physical, financial, technical, and social factors), and profitability of existing and promising value chains, to guide their decisions regarding the choice of productive assets, which will be provided as part of project support to enhance productivity, increase incomes, and strengthen resilience to economic, social, and climate-related vulnerabilities. The assessment will also generate evidence-based recommendations to guide not only the determination of productive asset assistance but also the design of livelihood and market development interventions specifically for the target VSLAs and their members. Specific objectives are: To identify and map existing and promising value chains and local market opportunities relevant to the target womens and adolescent girls VSLA Groups in Eastern Equatoria and Western Bahr El Ghazal.. Examine the challenges, constraints, and opportunities, including gender norms, household decisionmaking, and institutional factors such as access to financial services, productive assets, and infrastructure that influence womens and adolescent girls participation in value chains, markets, and economic decisionmaking.
