Tenders are invited for The Hire of Six (6) Locomotives The TanzaniaZambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) has identified the need to enhance its revenue and therefore requires the hire of Six (6) mainline locomotives to haul traffic between Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and New Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia. Accordingly, tenders are invited from eligible and qualified bidders for Tender No. TZR/HQ/CTC/2025/2026/05. 2. The tender will be conducted through the International Open Competitive method, in line with the procedures specified in the TAZARA Procurement & Supplies Manual of November 2011. 3. Tenderers may obtain further information or inspect the tender documents at either the TAZARA Head Office, 1st Floor, Room No. 210, Nyerere/Mandela Roads Junction, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, or the TAZARA Lusaka Area Managers Office, TAZARA House, Dedan Kimathi Road, Lusaka, Zambia, from 08:00 to 16:30 hours (local time), Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. A complete set of tender documents in English may be purchased by interested tenderers upon submission of a written application to either of the addresses above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 200.00 (United States Dollars Two Hundred Only). Submissions must be received on or before Friday, 10 October 2025, at 11:00 hours E.A.T. in Dar es Salaam or Friday, 10 October 2025, at 10:00 hours C.A.T. in Lusaka. Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in public, in the presence of bidders or their representatives, at the TAZARA Head Office Board Room in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, or the TAZARA Lusaka Area Office Board Room in Lusaka, Zambia. 7. Late tenders, electronic tenders, or any tenders not opened and read out in public during the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation, regardless of the circumstances.
