Project: Tender21037 - Medical Advisor Services . Equest For Bids To Provide Medical Advisor Services To Central Ambulance Communication Centres And Paramedic Services In A Specified Region Of Ontario. The Ministry Has Procured Medical Priority Dispatch System (Mpds), A Medical Triage Algorithm Used To Elicit Specific Information From Callers To 911, Process And Prioritize Calls For Ambulance Service, Recommend Levels Of Care And Response, As Well As Provide Pre-Arrival And Post-Dispatch Instructions. Mpds Will Replace The Current Algorithm In Use At Twenty (20) Ambulance Communication Centres In A Phased Implementation Approach That Began In 2022. The Medical Advisor Will Work With The Ministry To Authorize Components Of The Triage Algorithm System And Provide Ongoing Physician Oversight To Maintain An Evidence-Based Triage Algorithm System. Medical Advisor Will Work With Caccs, Municipal And First Nation Paramedic Services And Extended Stakeholders Within An Assigned Region Of The Province As Listed Below: Southwest Region Caccs Located In: Cambridge, Hamilton, London, Windsor, Wallaceburg (Note: Mpds Already Implemented In The Niagara Cacc. However, The Medical Advisor Will Be Required To Work With Niagara As Mpds Is Implemented Across The South-West Region) Scope Of Work To Acquire The Services Of A Third (3Rd) Medical Advisor To Support The Mpds Implementation Based On The Approved Southwest Region Location’S Provincial Rollout Schedule. The Contract Period Is 1 Years With Optional 1 Year Commencing On October 1, 2025. The Scope Of The Dispatch Medical Advisory Services Include: • Provide Medical Oversight For All Aspects Of The Medical Triage Algorithm. • Oversee The Medical Expertise And Performance Of Cacc Ambulance Communications Officers. • Participate On The Ministry’S Standing Ambulance Communications Service Steering Committees On A Quarterly Basis, More Often During Implementation. • Participate In The Evaluation And Review Of The Provincial And Local Emergency Medical Dispatch Training Programs. • Evaluate Pre-Arrival And Post-Dispatch Instructions Provided By Ambulance Communications Officers. • Facilitate Information Sharing Amongst The Broader Physician Community About Dispatch Related Services. • Recommend Operational Changes That Would Enhance The Ambulance Communication Services Contribution Towards Increased Medical Efficiency And Effectiveness In The Emergency Health Care Services System. • Participate In Emergency Health Program Management And Delivery Branch Related Research, Evaluation, Continuing Education, And Quality Assurance Initiatives. • Recommend Appropriate Level Of Ambulance Response And Resource Assignment To Each Specific Problem/Nature Call Type. • Provide Medical Comment On Dispatch Data.
