Tenders are invited for Ubiquitous Secure Access to Mission Operations Services (Expro+) Traditionally space mission ground segment architectures are centralised with peer-to-peercommunication and data/file exchange, single commanding authority over assets, replicated privatedata stores and segregated security management per organisation. Typically, operational networksare isolated and the access by external parties is tightly controlled.Distributed Operations (DO) has becomea pressing topic in light of the COVID19 pandemic(teleworking), and in support of particular missions and stakeholders, for shared/hosted platformoperations (e.g. robotic instrument operator on a platform) or federated collaborative assetoperations (e.g. lunarrover and orbiter). This also includes federated mission planning, operationspreparation and simulation. Extended and more flexible yet secure interfacing with industry andsharing of information with external entities is therefore more necessary than ever. Thisthenpresents several security challenges for which no common solutions have yet been defined. This activity aims at building capabilities which will support mutually trusted inter-agencycollaboration and industry to provide DO services for multiple clients. To achieve this, it investigatesand designs appropriate security architectures and demonstrate the critical functions in support of secure DO use cases, e.g.:Federated Identity and Access Management for multi-centre operations; Public Key Infrastructures,Certification Authorities (building on emerging CCSDS Intergovernmental Credential Authority);Secure multicasting; Access Control implementation for (potentially cloud-based) distributed dataarchives; Secure Mission Operations Services including extensions to the associated CCSDSstandards; Security of new communication protocols, File Based Operations, Delay TolerantNetworking and Multi-Route / Multi-Hop communication support; Zero trust architectures includingauthenticated and encrypted software functions and services; Secureand flexible policyorchestration for multi-centre operations.Read more Tender Link : https://esastar-publication-ext.sso.esa.int/ESATenderActions/filter/open
