Tenders are invited for GIZ - Strengthening National Implementation of Global Biodiversity Targets (NBSAP) It is against this background that the Strengthening National Implementation of Global Biodiversity Targets (NBSAP) project is inviting eligible and professional companies or consulting firms with relevant experience to submit tenders for the performance and delivery of the following services: 1) 2) Develop a National Strategy for Tree Planting (Afforestation and Reforestation) in Namibia; Develop an Implementation Plan to support the operationalization of the strategy. Bids must be hand delivered to the following address: Procurement Unit, GIZ-Office Namibia, No. 88 John Meinert Street, Windhoek West Namibia is facing increasing environmental challenges, including climate change, land degradation, and biodiversity loss, driven by deforestation, overgrazing, and unsustainable land use. To address these challenges and meet its national and international commitments. Namibia is prioritising afforestation and reforestation (A/R) as nature-based solutions. These interventions restore degraded landscapes, conserve biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and improve rural livelihoods while supporting Namibias obligations under the Bonn Challenge. GBF Targets 2.8. and 10. and the Global Forest Goals. In this context. MEFT. with the support of the GIZ-funded Support to the Implementation of the NBSAP project, seeks the services of a suitably qualified consultant to develop a National Afforestation and Reforestation Strategy. This strategy will provide a guiding framework to coordinate, scale, and monitor tree planting and restoration activities nationwide. It will integrate ecosystem-based adaptation, sustainable land management, and community-driven models to ensure the effective achievement of Namibias forest restoration targets.
