Tenders are invited for Argonaut E-Pump Switch Box OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the European space and technology group OHB SE, is acting as subcontractor to Thales Alenia Space (TAS-I) who has been contracted by the European Space Agency (ESA) as prime Contractor for the realization of the ARGONAUT Lunar Descent Element (LDE). Under its subcontract, OHB is responsible for the EPS, TT&C and GNC subsystems up to flight readiness. The objective of the present procurement is the selection of the subcontractor for the Argonaut E-pump Switch Box (ESB). As part of the Argonaut LDE system the ESB shall provide the functionality of distribution and protection of electrical power to the 6 E-Pumps during all mission phases. As a high-power protection equipment, the ESB should be designed to sustain an average power throughput of 79.2 kW and to handle a transient of 200A during 500 ms on each of the 6 redundant power lines while providing discrete telemetry to the PCDU. The procurement of the ESB will be conducted in line with the ESA Best Practices for the Selection of Subcontractors by Prime Contractors in the frame of ESAs Major Procurements (reference ESA BEST PRACTICES IPC(2012)65, rev.2).
