The Gujarat government it will set up an 800-MW thermal power project based on supercritical technology at Wanakbori in Central Gujarat. This will be the first-ever supercritical thermal power project by a State-run company, Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSEC) in the state, GSEC has already inked EPC contract with BHEL in December 2014 for implementing the 800-Mw Supercritical Thermal power project at Wanakboti. The project is estimated to cost around Rs. 4,800 crore.
