Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd is planning to invest Rs.1,200 crore to set up 3,000 megawatt (MW) power generation units of solar, wind and hybrid sources, said the Telangana government on Wednesday.
K.T. Rama Rao, information technology, panchayat raj and municipal administration and urban development minister, who was in Mumbai, met Tulsi Tanti, chairman and managing director of Suzlon and invited the group to invest in Telangana.
Rao assured the Suzlon group of all support from the Telangana government.
Suzlon in January made its foray into the solar sector winning 210 MW projects from the Telangana government through a competitive bidding process.
