Tata Steel signed an agreement with Sankara Eye Hospital of Tamil Nadu to set up a 100-bed super specialty eye care hospital at Samarjhola village under Hinjilicut Block of Ganjam District, Odisha. The hospital, which would come up in Samarjhola village, would be run by Sankara Eye Hospital. According to the agreement, Tata Steel will extend financial support as a grant up to Rs 42.3 crore for construction of the proposed 100 bed eye hospital and the required infrastructure including equipment to be built over 4.5 acres of land in the Samarjhola village which is approximately 17 km from Berhampur city. Apart, Tata Steel, is also setting up 500 bed and 200 bed multi-specialty hospitals at Gopalpur and Kalinganagar, respectively.
