The backfilling shall be well compacted in layers not exceeding 200mm in thickness with suitable equipment such as mechanical tamper, rammer, plate vibrator etc. after necessary watering so as to achieve a density not less than field density before excavation. \n1.1.7 In case of open foundations (i.e.culvert in approach road) requiring excavations in rock, cost of filling of annular space around the open foundations with M15 grade concrete shall also deemed to be included in the quoted rates.\n1.1.8 All labour, material, tools, equipment, safety measures, diversion of traffic (where applicable) and incidentals necessary to complete the work to Specifications.\n1.1.9 Measurement: Measurements shall be made for actual volume of earth for vertical cuts up to the outer edge of concrete only for all depths indicated. 2 1.02 Providing and placing M35 grade cement concrete (RCC) in Sub-Structure using 43/53 grade Ordinary Portland Cement, 20mm (Twenty millimeter) & down crushed stone aggregate and cement contant not less than 340 kg/m3 and approved quality sand including the cost of centring and shuttering (excluding the cost of reinforcement only which shall be paid separately) with all leads lifts/ depths including mechanical transport and all complete as per the Drawings and MoRT&H Specifications clause 1500, 1700 & 2200for Road and Bridge Works. The scope of work in the item primarily includes: 1.2.1 Pumping/bailing out of water wherever required to keep the work area in dry condition, including its labour, material and equipment.\n1.2.2 Designing and getting approval of the design and drawings of formwork and temporary structures from the Engineer-in-charge well before start of work at the site.\n1.2.3 Providing and placing centring and shuttering including its erection, oiling (with approved shuttering oil), dismantling and removal for all leads and lifts/depth with all required tools and plants.\n1.2.4 Providing and mixing all ingredients of cement concrete including admixtures if required, transportation, placement, compaction, finishing and curing of concrete. The minimum slump of concrete shall be 75mm at the time of placement of concrete.\n1.2.5 All arrangements required to keep the reinforcement bars projecting out in position with due cover blocks provided as per the Specifications.\n1.2.6 Maintenance and protection of existing services (if any) which in the opinion of Engineer-in-charge are likely to be affected by any related activities including temporary shifting and re-shifting of such services to facilitate construction of foundation work shall also have to be done without any extra cost.\n1.2.7 Disposal of all spoils and rubbish for all lifts & leads to keep the work area neat and tidy during execution of work and thereafter.\n1.2.8 All labour, material, tools, equipment, safety measures, diversion of traffic (where applicable) and incidentals necessary to complete the work to Specifications.\n1.2.9 Measurement: Measurements shall be made for the finished volume of concrete only. 4 2.01 SUBSTRUCTURE AND FILLING BEHIND ABUTMENTS: Providing weep holes in retaining walls, abutment wall, wing wall/return wall with 100mm (One hundred millimeter) dia AC pipe, extending through the full width of the structure with slope of 1V:20H towards draining face as per the Drawings and MoRT&H Specifications 2705 & 2200 for Road and Bridge Works. 5 2.02 Providing and laying of Filter Media with stone, crushed aggregates satisfying the requirements laid down in Clause 2504.2.2 of as per the drawing and MoRT&H Specifications for Road and Bridge Works to a thickness of not less than 600mm (Six hundred millimeter) with smaller size towards the soil and bigger size towards the wall and provided over the entire surface behind PCC retaining walls to the full height compacted to a firm condition complete. 7 3.01 SUPERSTRUCTURE AND CRASH BARRIER: Providing and placing in position M35 grade cement concrete (RCC) in Super-Structure the cast-in-situ arch ribs, bracings connecting arch ribs, beams (at deck level) and deck slab (of bridge & culvert in approach roads) using 43/53 grade Ordinary Portland Cement, 20mm & down stone aggregate and cement contant not less than 340 kg/m3 and approved quality sand as per the Drawings, and MoRT&H Specifications clause 1500,1600 & 1700 for Road and Bridge Works. Item to include all types of shuttering, staging, scaffolding, necessary tools, plants, machinery, transportation and erection of precast girders (as applicable) and all related operations as required to complete the work with all leads, lifts and depths true to level and position all complete excluding only the cost of reinforcement which shall be paid separately. The scope of work in the item primarily includes: 3.1.1 Designing and getting approval of the methodology of construction, design and drawings of formwork and temporary structures (including their foundations wherever applicable) from the Engineer-in-charge well before start of work at the site.\n3.1.2 Providing, placing, cleaning, oiling (with approved shuttering oil), dismantling and removal of shuttering, staging, scaffolding and other temporary structures for all leads and lifts/depth with all required tools and plants. \n3.1.3 Maintenance and protection of existing services (if any) which in the opinion of Engineer-in-charge are likely to be affected by any related activities including temporary shifting and re-shifting of such services to facilitate construction of foundation work shall also have to be done without any extra cost.\n3.1.4 Providing and mixing all ingredients of cement concrete including admixtures if required, transportation, placement, compaction, finishing and curing of concrete. The minimum slump of concrete shall be 100mm at the time of placement of concrete.\n3.1.5 Installation of any fixture into the superstructure. Cost of fixture shall be paid separately or fixture shall be supplied by the Department free of cost.\n3.1.6 Leaving pocket in the deck slab for installation of expansion joint and concreting the same after the installation of the expansion joint as per recommendations of expansion joint supplier and directions of the Engineer-in-charge.\n3.1.7 Disposal of all spoils and rubbish for all lifts & leads upto 1000m to keep the work area neat and tidy during execution of work and thereafter.\n3.1.8 All labour, material, tools, equipment, safety measures, diversion of traffic (where applicable) and incidentals necessary to complete the work to Specifications.The rate includes sale tax, octroi, royality, Malkana, toll tax, labour cess or other taxes imposed by the Government, but exclusive of goods service tax which shall be paid separately.\n3.1.9 Measurement: Measurements shall be made for the finished volume of concrete only. 8 3.02 Providing and placing in position M35 grade cement concrete (RCC) in cast-in-situ crash barrier using 43/53 grade Ordinary Portland Cement, 20mm & down stone aggregate and cement contant not less than 340 kg/m3 and approved quality sand as per the Drawings and MoRT&H Specifications clause 1500, 1600 & 1700 for Road and Bridge Works. The item shall also include cost of 150mm dia PVC pipes placed inside crash barrier as service duct for services. The scope of work in the item primarily includes: 3.2.1 Designing and getting approval of the design and drawings of formwork and temporary structures from the Engineer-in-charge well before start of work at the site.\n3.2.2 Providing, placing, cleaning, oiling (with approved shuttering oil), dismantling and removal of shuttering and other temporary structures for all leads and lifts/depth with all required tools and plants. \n3.2.3 Providing and mixing all ingredients of cement concrete including admixtures if required, transportation, placement, compaction, finishing and curing of concrete. The minimum slump of concrete shall be 100mm at the time of placement of concrete.\n3.2.4 Installation of any fixture into the superstructure. 11 3.05 Providing and laying of compression seal joint consisting of steel armoured nosing at two edges of the joint gap suitably anchored to the deck concrete and a preformed chloroprene elastomer or closed cell foam joint sealer compressed and fixed into the joint gap with special adhesive binder to cater for a horizontal movement upto 40 mm and vertical movement of 3 mm as per the Drawings and MoRT&H Specifications clause 2600 for Road and Bridge Works. 12 3.06 Providing and filling joint sealing compound as per drawings and technical specifications with coarse sand and 6 per cent bitumen by weight as per the Drawings and MoRT&H Specifications for Road and Bridge Works. 13 4.01 REINFORCEMENT: Providing and placing in position TMT (Fe 500 Grade) reinforcement bars confirming to relevant ISI specification i.e. SAIL, TATA and RINL for in various structural elements of the bridge including cutting, straightening, bending, fabricating, storing, binding with mild steel annealed binding wire of 18 SWG, fixing in position complete as per the Drawings, Specifications and MoRT&H Specifications clause 1600 for Road and Bridge Works. The scope of work in the item primarily includes: 4.1.1 The reinforcing bars shall be free of scale and rust before placing into position. Any reinforcement, which is certified as corroded by the Engineer-in-charge shall either be withdrawn from the site or sand blasted to make them free from rust at no extra cost.\n4.1.2 Welding and hot bending of bars shall not be permitted.\n4.1.3 Making bar bending schedule and getting approval of the same from the Engineer-in-charge well before cutting of bars and fabrication of reinforcement cage.\n4.1.4 Disposal of all spoils and rubbish for all lifts & leads up to 1000m to keep the work area neat and tidy during execution of work and thereafter.\n4.1.5 All labour, material, tools, equipment, safety measures and incidentals necessary to complete the work to Specifications.\n4.1.6 Measurement: Reinforcement shall be measures in length including hooks, if any, separately for different diameters as actually used in work, excluding overlaps. From the length so measured, the weight of reinforcement shall be calculated in tonnes on the basis of IS: 1732. 15 5.02 Providing and installing single strip seal expansion joint with a total allowable movement capacity of 70mm (Seventy millimeter) as per Drawings, MoRT&H Specifications, MoRT&H circular no.RW/NH-35049/1/96- S&R dated 30th November 2000 and 20th February 2001,IRC:SP:69-2005 'Guidelines & Specifications for Expansion Joints' and duly supplemented with manufacturer's recommendations. Entire installation is to be carried out strictly in the presence of manufacturer's representative only at all times who shall certify the quality of work.
