1 1 Radar System including the radome scanner& display: \n\na) The Radar system should consist of high resolution 24 NM radar having a 9” radar monitor located in the wheel house and an enclosed radome scanner mounted on the roll bar/mast. \nb) It should be able to track multiple targets and should be able to easily interconnect with GPS and AIS including chart coverage of the navigation area.\nc) The Radar display should have high brightness; sunlight viewable LCD's, enhanced visibility with Anti-Reflective (AR) coating to cut down annoying glare, excellent all round presentation with a wide viewable angle. It is mandatorily be noted that the display unit must be compatible with AIS, GPS cum echosounder and should work a multifunction display. The display should be customizable to view multiple functions of RADAR/GPS/ECHOSOUNDER/AIS at a same time (PIP type). \nd) The system should be an Ethernet based system which enables single as well as multiple display installations. Radar display should interconnect with display of other navigational equipments such as AIS, GPS/Chart Plotter etc and should allow stress-free navigation and operation of any/all the component connected to the Radar network.\ne) Radar should fully support C Map charts including areas/maps of in and around *South African continent & should have presentation modes selectable from: North-up, Head-up, Course-up and True Motion. It is to be noted that the maps of particular location will be intimated to the firm at later date for updating in the system.\nf) The radome antenna should be compact and lightweight with simplified installation & modest power consumption (Approx 2.2kW).The radome should have a maximum range of 24 NM.\ng) All adequate cabling, connectors & other requisites required to fully operate the equipment should be included in the offer.\n\n Item 1 1 Set
2 2 GPS/Echo Sounder/Chart Plotter :\n\na) One GPS/Echo Sounder/Chart plotter should have chart cards of areas in and around *South African continent. It will be installed in the wheel house. The output of the system should be compatible to the Multifunction display of RADAR as mentioned above.\nb) The echo sounder sensor should be capable of sounding alarm for shallow waters.\nc) The GPS should have a display mode which includes Plotter, Nav Data, Steering, Highway, Speedo and 2 customizable modes. The GPS antenna should be WAAS(Wide Area Augmentation System, WAAS on/off selectable) receiver. GPS receiver should have 12 discrete channels, All in View Parallel Tracking GPS receiver. The GPS receiver should have 900 knot tracking velocity & should have accuracy of 3M accuracy (95% of time).\nd) It should accept the C-Map’s new NT MAX charts. The NT MAX charts unique features include live nav-aids (such as flashing buoys/light houses), tidal flows(show direction and strength), local street maps (Coastal roads, land elevation contours, airports and other land objects included in major port areas),photographs of harbors.\ne) All adequate cabling & other requisites like intermediate connectors etc required to fully operate the equipment should be included in the offer.\n\n Item 2 1 Set
3 3 Automatic Identification System:\n \na) AIS (Type B) transponder (with GPS antenna, 1 no. VHF Aerial etc) with accessories should be provided. Should be capable of exchanging navigation & ship data between own ship and other ships or coastal stations. Should be IMO regulation compliant.\nb) The AIS system should receive dual AIS channels simultaneously & should be compatible with the GPS receiver. It should receive both Class A as well as Class B AIS information.\nc) The transmitted information should contain MMSI code, Vessel name, Call sign, Type of ship, GPS antenna position, Ship's position, SOG (Speed over ground), COG(Course over ground), UTC date and time, GPS antenna type, PA (Position Accuracy).\nd) The output of AIS shoall be provided in Multifunction display as mentioned above and should support north-up, course-up and range zoom from 0.125 NM to 24 NM.\ne) The AIS system should have CPA and TCPA data for collision-risk management i.e. when a vessel comes into the CPA and TCPA range, the vessel icon should blink on the Plotter display and emits a beep sound.\nf) The AIS system have an individual DSC calling facility, 3 line NMEA input/output,100waypoints memory, store automatically up to 20 received DSC messages in the log memory, full dot-matrix display with adjustable backlight and contrast, self diagnostics & IP X7 waterproof protection.\ng) All adequate cabling, antenna mounting and other accessories required to fully operate the equipment should be included in the offer.\n\n Item 3 1 Set
4 4 Magnetic Compass:\n\nThe compass should be of 100 mm diameter with cover fitted in the wheelhouse at suitable location to facilitate navigation.
