The pontoon will be launched after completion of fabrication and obtaining certificate from appropriate authority.Sand blasting of outer hull & deck with fittings prior to apply initial primer coating under instruction & satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge.The pontoon under water hull has to be painted with 2 coats of anticorrosive zinc chromate red & final 2 coats with shalimar BIPIGUARD (tuff coat) black base paints (Marine Grade) & one coat antifouling paint prior to launching.The pontoon external hull area including deck, fittings & internal void spaces shall be painted with 2-coats Tuffkote Red Oxide Zinc Chromate Primer , final 2 coat BIPIGARD / EPIGARD. Pontoon shall be launched after completion of fabrication, under water hull paintings & obtaining launching permision from Surveyor (IWT Dte) & Fix up the 20 Nos sacrificial anode ( Zn) to be fitted under the pontoon.Fabrication, fixing of deck fittings & paintings of pontoon will be carried out under instruction and satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge. 10 3.01 Provide, supply, testing material (physical & chemical), fabricate with approved electrode (ESAB make or equivalent )as per Ship building practice and approved design & drawings at approved location all steel (IS:2062:Grade A & B) gangway with top & bottom chords, verticals, diagonals, Ford & Aft tie, top & bottom X girders, top & bottom wind bracings, deck wood holdings ISMC & ISA, railings, gussets, bracket and sections joining doublers. Also fabricate yoke rollers resting base, gangway rollers (a bush made of brass to be fit inside the roller and a greasing point to make) and yoke holding brackets, flaps with hinges between gangway & link platform, steps from gangway to pontoon deck.The builder shall supply & fix up as per approved drawing 75.0 mm thick best quality sal wood without knots & cracks for Gangway deck (L: 30.0 m x B: 3.5 m) & steps from Gangway to Pontoon deck. The woods shall be painted with 3 coats of coal tar prior to fixup.Sand Blasting with apply initial priemr coating & Painting, gangway and yoke assemblies with 2-coats Marine Guard anticorrosive Zinc chromate Red & final 3-coats Aluminum.Fabrication of gangway and other fittings & fixtures and painting are to be carried out under instruction & satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge.The fabricated Gangway will be loaded on pontoon & lashed properly for towing to Jetty installation site under instruction & satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge.
