14 14 Forming embankment /earth spreading in runway shoulders including\nraising or lowering earth,spreading in layers n exc. 30 cm thick,watering, & well ramming to obtain maximum dry density at optimum moisture content and finishing to required size, shape etc not exc 1.5 mtr high from the base including rough excavation of earth from a distance exc 1.5 KM but not exc 5.0 KM outside MOD premises, from the sources as approved (duly approved by GE) including loading/unloading and transportation upto the site of work complete all as specified and as directed. \nNotes:- (i) Quoted rates deemed to be include for royality/octroi charges levied by central/state authorities for earth mining and the documentry evidence thereof shall be submitted.\n(ii) The quantum of earth work involved shall be worked out by levelling method of surveying. \n(iii) Compaction of earth filling shall be carried out under optimum moisture conditions with standard proctor density not less than 95 percent of the density obtained in the laboratory by proctor method and a systematic record of these tests shall be maintained.\n(iv) Each layer shall be compacted by rolling with 08 to 10 tonnes power road roller and sheep foot roller, if required.\n(v) Source /location of borrow pits and earth reqd shall be approved by GE in writing.\n(vi) Measurements shall be those of the borrow pits,trenches, etc. from which the material is obtained and If this is found difficult or impracticable, the measurements of the finished embankment, traverse of earth filling shall be taken after consolidation and 10% deducted to allow for increase in bulk after excavation. \n Item14 400 CUM
15 15 Forming embankment /earth spreading in runway shoulders including\nraising or lowering earth,spreading in layers n exc. 30 cm thick,watering, & well ramming to obtain maximum dry density at optimum moisture content and finishing to required size, shape etc not exc 1.5 mtr high from the base using earth obtained from srl No 3,4 & 5 here-in-before (duly approved by GE) including loading/unloading and transportation upto the site of work complete all as specified and as directed. \nNotes:- (i) 60 % quantity of approved earth has been considered to be reused in the work obtained from srl No 3 and to ascertained the exact quantity, a BOO shall be conveyed by the Accepting officer during execution of work. \n(ii) Compaction of earth filling shall be carried out under optimum moisture conditions with standard proctor density not less than 95 percent of the density obtained in the laboratory by proctor method and a systematic record of these tests shall be maintained.\n(iii) Each layer shall be compacted by rolling with 08 to 10 tonnes power road roller and sheep foot roller, if required.\n(iv) Measurements from which the material is obtained, found difficult or impracticable, the measurements of the finished embankment, traverse of earth filling shall be taken after consolidation and 10% deducted to allow for increase in bulk after excavation. \n\n Item15 8910 CUM
