The Ministry Of Forests Is Looking To Complete Wildfire Risk Reduction (Wrr) Work Adjacent To Miller Road, Located In The Horsefly Community. The Contract Is Expected To Commence In Summer/Fall 2025 And Works Must Be Completed By March 19, 2026, With The Potential Of An “Option To Renew” To Complete The Miller Road Wrr Project In The 2026/2027 Fiscal Year. The Project Is 28.49 Hectares (Ha); With 24.72 Ha That Will Have Been Partially Harvested Under A Separate Forest Tenure And 3.77 Ha Which Has Not Been Harvested. These Treatment Units Are Designed For Flexibility To Use Small Machinery In Conjunction With Hand Crews To Make Surface Fuel Clean Up More Cost Effective. Small Equipment Use Must Still Ensure Minimal Impact To Leave Trees, Understory Retention, And Soil Disturbance.
