This tree felling and removal contract will take place in five private properties along Mill Road, Corbally, Co. Limerick. The properties are Hillside Cottage, Laurel Cottage, Roseneath, Ryanhart, and Bishop s Field. There are approximately 101 mature and semi-mature trees to be felled and removed to a Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) Parks Depot at Spring Grove off Mill Road. The purpose of this advance works contract is to clear trees from proposed working areas in five private properties. Three of the tree felling working areas are in the process of being purchased by LCCC (i.e. part of Roseneath, Ryanhart, and Bishop s Field) and the other two properties (Hillside Cottage and Laurel Cottage) have agreed to the proposed tree felling works, and the demolition of existing buildings on the edge of the road to enable Mill Road to be widened. A different Main Works Contractor (to be procured under a separate tender process) will construct a prioritised, safe, and segregated cycle and walking route for vulnerable road users along a busy, hilly, narrow, local road in Corbally. This is particularly important for mobility impaired road users including the residents of Corbally House Nursing Home at the northern end of the project area, and children who live in the estates off Mill Road and who commute to school in St Munchins College and Scoil Ide.
