KamchatkaThe Pacific Noncommunicable Diseases Ncd And Health Through The Life Course Unit Provides Technical Support To The Pacific Island Ministries Of Health With Noncommunicable Diseases Health Promotion Nutrition And Related Issues Including Cancer Control Cancer Control Foci Are Primarily National Cancer Control Planning Cancer Registry Support And Cervical Cancer Early Detection Programme Support There Is Particular Focus On Supporting The Region To Eliminate Cervical Cancer In Light Of The Global Strategy To Accelerate The Elimination Of Cervical Cancer As A Public Health Problem Who Is Collaborating With Regional Leadership And Technical Organizations Ministries Of Health As Well As Ingo Un Partner Agencies To Develop A Coordinated Approach To Cervical Cancer Elimination A Situational Analysis And Response Of Cervical Cancer In The Pacific Was Previously Completed For The Pacific In 2016 Available As Attachment And This Requires Updating Prior To Further Investigations Around Strategic Planning For A Pacific Approach To Cervical Cancer Elimination The Update Will Therefore Provide A Comparator Since 2016 And Include Alterations To The Report Structure To Help Support High Level Decision Making In The Context Of Cervical Cancer Elimination Purpose Specific Objective Of The ActivityTo Assist Pacific Island Countries And Areas Pics Multinational Leadership And Technical Organizations With Setting Direction For Upcoming Strategies For Cervical Cancer Elimination A Situational Analysis Is Required In Order To Gain An Updated Understanding Of Activities In The Pacific Islands Sub Region And Identification Of The Common Programmatic Gaps Stakeholders Are Also Seeking Expert Recommendation Of Policy Options Which Are Tailored For The Pacific Island Setting A Coalition Of Pacific Island Based Implementation Research Agencies Who Have Access To Technical Support From One Or More International Cancer Control Expert Groups Will Be Recruited To Review Cervical Cancer Across The Cancer Control Continuum In Each Pic Including Inputs From The Private Sector Ngo And Other Stakeholder Non State Actors Nsas That Are Active In This Field There Will Be A Review Of Progress On Previous Policy Recommendations See Below And Alignment With The Global Strategy To Accelerate The Elimination Of Cervical Cancer As A Public Health Problem Global Strategy As Well As Other Relevant Regional And International Commitments And Strategies The Final Report Is Expected To Include Definition Of A Pacific Programme For Cervical Cancer Elimination A Gap Analysis And Pic Ideal Elimination Programme And Recommendations For Next Actions The Countries To Be Included In The Review Are Those Covered Within The Structure Of The Who Division Of Pacific Technical
