eConsult PPE and Medical Consumable Manufacturing in AfricaIFC seeks to engage a consultant or consortium of consultants to conduct an in depth market validation study and investment lead generation exercise for specific countries focused on expanding the manufacturing of medical PPE medical consumables and medium complexity medtech which were identified in an IFCs inhouse study The work is expected to be completed over three to four months The main objectives are to i verify investment thesis of local production of identified products ii identify concrete Upstream i e early stage pre Financial Close project development and or investment opportunities by leveraging interviews with consultants or consortiums networks to build regional medical production clusters for forward backward integration and or expansion of existing manufacturing capabilities in the manufacturing scaleup iii Identify international producers of medium complexity MedTech products including patient monitors EKGs oxygen concentrators etc with interest in expanding manufacturing and or tech transfer to Africa iv Mapping of key procurement supply chains for large purchasers of medical consumables particularly hospitals and pharmacies in target countries
