Request for proposals are invited for Construction and Installation of an External Metallic StaircaseScope of WorkDemolition of Existing StaircaseThe existing spiral staircase shall be demolished completely see photo from where it connects at the second floor entrance all the way down to the ground floor After the staircase is demolished completely the contractor willremove all the staircase debris from the residential property and off the property site to a dump site the same day that the demolition phase of the project is completed After the contractor has completed the demolition of the existing staircase The U S Embassy COR will examine the demolition of the stairs and will determine if the demolition of the existing stairs has been completed or if the contractor needs to remove additional pieces of the old staircase Once the U S Embassy COR determines that the demolition phase has been completed thecontractor can move on to the construction of the new staircase phase of the project Construction and Installation of New StaircaseConstruction DetailsThe contractor will fabricate the new staircase and all fabricated sections of the staircase offsite and assemble the staircase and all fabricated sections of the staircase on site All material used in the fabrication of the staircase treads risers railing stair stringers landingbeams support columns and any other material used in the fabrication of the stairs must benpre approved in writing by the U S Embassy COR before the contractor can purchase thematerial for fabrication The contractor will submit shop fabrication drawings and material specifications for writtenapproval by the U S Embassy COR prior to purchase of material and prior to fabrication The contractor will submit drawings descriptions specifications pictures etc of the materialthey will use for the staircase in the form of submissions to the U S Embassy COR for writtenapproval prior to the contractor purchasing material and prior to fabrication Painting SteelAll steel is to be coated with one 1 coat of epoxy primer with a minimum thickness of 70microns and two 2 coats of epoxy finish and the contractor must submit in writingdocumentation that states this for approval in writing U S Embassy COR will pick the color Approval will be given in writing by the U S Embassy COR ConcreteAll concrete is to be a minimum of 20 MPa unless otherwise approved by the U S EmbassyCOR The contractor must submit in writing documentation that states this for approval inwriting Approval will be given in writing by the U S Embassy COR WeldingAll field welding is to be conducted by a certified welder with a minimum of 5 years experience with field welding Documentation must be provided to the U S Embassy COR byall bidders that prove that their welders have this amount of experience All welds must be examined by the U S Embassy COR and the U S Embassy Facilities welderto approve the welds and methods the contract uses to perform the welding Approval will begiven in writing by the U S Embassy COR Site ManagementClean up the entire worksite at the end of each workday by removing all trash and debris 40 Store all material on site is a neat and organized process and store all material tools etc in an area that will be selected by the U S Embassy COR All material and supplies for this project must be coordinated for delivery with the U S Embassy COR prior to delivery of material and supplies to the construction site Send an email with your organization name and the name s of the attendees who will attend thevisit to kinshasabid state gov before 09 June 2021 before 17 00 Kinshasa time Only one participants per organization shall be permitted The date of the site visit is 11 June 2021 at 09 00 Kinshasa time at 2 Avenue Nzongotolo Kinshasa Only organizations who have pre registered may attend The visit shall promptly start at 09 00 Late arrivals shall not be granted access to the site The proposals are due on 17 June 2021 by 12 00 noon Kinshasa time Submissions received after this time and date may not be accepted All work shall be performed during 0800 1600 Monday Friday Other hours if requested by the Contractor may be approved by the Contracting Officer s Representative COR The Contractor shall give 24 hours in advance to COR who will consider any deviation from the hours identified above Changes in work hours initiated by the Contractor will not be a cause for a price increase
