ProgrammeBuilding Learning Foundations Blf Is A Programme Of The Ministry Of Education Mineduc And Rwanda Education Board Reb That Is Funded By The British People Through The Foreign Commonwealth Development Office Fcdo As Part Of Its Learning For All Programme In Rwanda The Programme Is Focused On Improving Learning Outcomes At P1 To P5 In English And Mathematics This Is Intended To Improve The Pupils Learning Achievement In Higher Grades Thereby Increasing Equitable Access To Primary And Secondary Education In Rwanda The Programme Is Built On Three Foundations To Ensure Long Term Will Run Until September 2023 Blf Delivers A Highly Focused Programme To Transform Teachers Classroom Practice And Improve Pupil Learning Outcomes In Foundational English And Maths Using Research Based Best Practices In Teacher Professional Development Blf Sets Out To Improve The Pedagogical Skills Of P1 5 English And Maths Teachers Equipping Them With The Resources They Need In Order To Improve Learning Outcomes For All Primary Pupils 2 2 Overview Of Pupil Activity BooksOne Of BlfS Key Outputs Is To Ensure That P1 P5 Teachers And Learners Have The Tools And Resources They Need For Foundational English 600 000 Pupil Activity Books Were Provided In 2019 For Learning English In P2 And P3 These Focus On Providing Activities For Learners To Develop And Practice English Literacy And Their Language Skills The Content Of The Activity Books Has Been Informed By Discussions With The Rwanda Education Board Reb And Data From The Baseline Pupil Assessment And Complements The English Early Grade Primary Curriculum Blf Will Develop Two High Quality Pupil Activity Books 1 For P4 1 For P5 For Use By Primary Pupils To Improve The Learning Of English Foundational Skills With A Focus On Emergent Literacy English As A Second Additional Language The Activity Books Will Be For Pupils To Use For The Development Of Their Upper Primary Grade English Literacy With A Particular Focus On The Development Of Reading And Writing Subskills The Content Will Align With The Current Upper Primary Curriculum And Be Relevant And Sensitive To The Rwanda Context The Books Will Encourage Inclusive Practices And Will Be Developed In Collaboration With Rwanda Education Board Reb Who Will Provide Valuable Input And Feedback From The Initial Planning And Design Stages Through To Final Editing And Production 3 Specification3 1 PurposeThe Purpose Of This Assignment Is Two Fold As It Includes Both Illustrations And Graphic Design 3 1 1 IllustrationsThis Part Of The Assignment Is To Develop Illustrations For The Pupil Books In Accordance With The Guidelines That Will Be Given By The British Council The Illustrator Will Be Provided With A Basic Sketch Layout Of Each Page Of The Pupil Books Which Will Include Simple Drawings Of Rwandan School Pupils And Everyday Scenes Objects And Animals The Illustrator Will Be Required To Develop The Ideas From These Simple Sketches Into High Quality Full Colour Illustrations The Illustrator Will Be Required To Develop Full Color Illustrations From Basic Sketched Designs Closely Follow The Written Guidelines And The Draft Sketches Provided By The Author To Ensure All Illustrations Are Relevant And Assist In Pupils Learning And Skills Development Ensure Illustrations Are Relevant And Sensitive To The Rwanda Context Ensure The Illustrations Are Accessible And Appealing For Upper Primary Pupils P4 P5 In Rwanda Ensure Illustrations Promote Inclusive Practices Develop Illustrations With A Positive And Equal Presentation Of
