Initiative Tfi Programme Of The Who Regional Office For The Western Pacific Is Mandated To Assist Member States In The Full Implementation Of The Who Framework Convention On Tobacco Control Fctc In Order To Reduce Tobacco Use And Protect People From Second Hand Smoke Exposure And Thereby Prevent And Mitigate Tobacco Related Diseases And Premature Deaths The Incumbent Will Collaborate With Member States And Other Stakeholders To Collect And Develop Strategic Information To Be Used In Advancing Tobacco Control In The Western Pacific In Line With The Regional Action Plan On Tobacco Control In The Western Pacific 2020 2030 The Incumbent Will Focus In Particular On The Following Activities Preparation Of The Who Report On The Global Tobacco Epidemic Which Tracks The Status Of The Tobacco Epidemic And The Impact Key Demand Reduction Measures Mpower Which Are Being Implemented To Stop It Based On Data Collected From The Member States The 8Th Edition Of The Report Is Expected To Be Launched In July 2021 For Which Tfi In Each Region Will Be Requested To Support The Preparation Development Of A Report On The Tobacco Control In The Western Pacific Region 2021 Based On The Data And Information From Areas And Territories Following The Framework Of The Who Report On The Global Tobacco Epidemic These Will Be Analysed Along With The Data Collected And Analysed By Hq For Countries To Keep Consistency As Well As To Make The Data Comparable To The Countries Since Countries And Areas Have Different Capacity And Are Not On The Same Level Of Implementation Regional Report Analysing Data From Countries And Areas Will Help Them Prioritize Measures That Would Best Fit Their Context The World No Tobacco Day Is Celebrated Every Year On 31 May Tfi At Wpro Is Tasked To Lead The
