Expression of Interest for Platina Electrodes for Target Preparation Description: The target preparation group of G.II.6/Metro needs for every project a new platina anode. Due to the nature of the work these electrodes are contaminated with radioactive substances and can be used for one project only. Since the size of the target to be prepared determines the size of the electrode we need a stock with several different sizes. Targets are essentially very thin metal disks or plastic foils with a layer of radioactive material (usually uranium or plutonium isotopes) that are used for experiments in particle accelerators.
