The City Of Prince Rupert Invites Quotes From Qualified Professionals For Provision Of The Following Services:Performing A Detailed Topographic Survey Of The Concrete Slab Surface At The Jim Ciccione Civic Centre Ice Rink, Indicating The Depth Of The Concrete At Multiple Points On A Max. 1.5 Metre Grid Across The Pad.Background:The Ice Rink Surface Has Experienced Slab Heaving Over The Years, Resulting In An Elevation Difference Of Up To 3” In Some Areas. Installed In 1998, These Problems Have Been Going On For Some Time; And The Rink Surface Has Already Had High Spots Ground Down Once In The Past.Project:The City Had A Geotechnical Assessment Done In 2025 Which Provided A Contour Map Of The Existing Elevations And A Recommendation That We Have More Grinding Done On The High Spots To Reduce Them As Much As Possible. They Indicated At The Time That, Prior To Doing This Work, Aprincerupert.Camore Detailed And Precise Survey Would Be Required In Order To Pinpoint The Spots As Well As Determine The Depth Of Grinding That Can Occur In Those Areas.It Is This Survey The City Seeks To Procure Now, With A View To Having It Done As Soon As Ice Is Out (Last Week Of March Or First Week Of April, 2026), To Ensure The Grinding Work Can Be Completed Before Ice Goes Back In In Late August.Supporting Documents:The 2025 Geotech Report By Kgs Group Will Be Attached To This Itq (In The ‘Documents’ Section On Bc Bid) As Well As Design Plans Of The Rink Area And Photographs.
