Tenders are invited for Argonaut X/S-Band Transponder OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the European space and technology group OHB SE, is acting as subcontractor to Thales Alenia Space (TAS-I) who has been contracted by the European Space Agency (ESA) as prime Contractor for the realization of the ARGONAUT mission. Under its subcontract, OHB is responsible for the EPS, TT&C and GNC subsystems up to flight readiness. The objective of the present procurement is the selection of the subcontractor for the Argonaut LDE X/S-band transponder (XST). As part of the TT&C subsystem, the X/S- band transponder is one of the key elements. This unit is the responsible to establish a communication link with both Ground Stations on Earth and the Relay System (LCNS) by receiving the uplink signal, transmitting the downlink signal and performing ranging operations. The procurement of the XST will be conducted in line with the ESA Best Practices for the Selection of Subcontractors by Prime Contractors in the frame of ESAs Major Procurements (reference ESA BEST PRACTICES IPC(2012)65, rev.2).
